Ecological Surveys for Planning
Phase 1 PEA surveys :
Through our trusted associates at Bracken and Wild we can provide Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs), the standard phase 1 ecological survey required by local authorities to support planning applications. Failure to include a PEA in a planning application can result in planning refusal or significant delays.
The survey provides information before a planning application can be approved whilst also laying the basis for possible further ecological surveys.
We also offer Preliminary Roost Assessments (PRAs) for bats and follow-up bat emergence surveys and phase 2 surveys including water vole, reptile, great crested newt and badgers of land and buildings for both commercial and domestic sites in all locations.
The survey records all habitats on site and all protected species e.g. bats. The survey follows the Joint Nature Conservation Committee JNCC (2010) handbook for Phase 1 & 2 habitat surveys & the British Standard 42020 (biodiversity) & CIEEM Guildlines for Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (GPEA)
