Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) have become the standard phase 1 ecological survey required by local authorities to support planning applications. Failure to include a PEA in a planning application can result in planning refusal or significant delays. The survey provides information before a planning application can be approved whilst also laying the basis for possible further ecological surveys.
We offer surveys of land and buildings for both commercial and domestic sites in all locations.
The survey records all habitats on site and all protected species e.g. bats. The survey follows the Joint Nature Conservation Committee JNCC (2010) handbook for Phase 1 habitat surveys & the British Standard 42020 (biodiversity) & CIEEM Guildlines for Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (GPEA)
